In The Year Of The Lord
By Anita Nisson
In the year of our Lord
Two thousand and one,
A long lasting friendship
Thank God , had begun.
We went to Boston
To learn something good,
About a disease
Weve never understood.
Many lessons were learned
Many people we met,
One special friendship
Well never forget.
I met a new friend
That can talk to me,
About something special
Its our children, you see.
Our kids have been ill
For too many years,
And like many parents
Weve shed many tears.
The disease that is shared
By her daughter and mine,
Brought two strangers together
Above the Mason Dixon line.
Who would have thought
This friendship could last,
A Yankee and a Southerner-
Well forget about the past.
In the near future
We hope and pray
Someone will find a cure
For kids with JRA.
